I am back to Cafe Budan this morning. But my daily routine is about to change. Tomorrow I begin my second 5-day yoga course at HIYC and the class begins at 7am. It will make getting to class on an empty stomach much easier, but my morning cup of joe locale will change.
This morning was an idyllic scene to hang memories on. Taking it a little lazy as a treat to myself post trek and the fact that I am super sunburnt, I watched as parents walked their children to school, mules made their way up the hill to work and a fierce game of chess play out in front of me.
Then it was off to find the elusive waterfall. As I had gone every route but the one to the waterfall yesterday, there wasn't much getting lost today. So what would have been the intro hike became a recovery walk.
The treat of the day was returning home to my Tibetan family making vegetarian momos. A production line of rolling the dough out, filling the pocket, folding it into shape and placing the delicacy in the steamer reminded me of the days of watching my grandparents make pīrāgi. The art is in forming the crescent shape. Pīrāgi are as unique as the individual who makes them. The method of crafting the shape determines a good pīrāgs from an ok one. The same goes for the momo. "Fold it, fold, fold, one fold" says my Tibetan mom as she pinches the sides of the pocket together and encloses the yummy goodness inside. 20 minutes to steam and dinner is ready.

The elusive waterfall found. Crystal clear mountain water and natural swimming pools for refreshment. Just a rock slide, or two, to cross to get there.
Everyone gets in the spirit of making momos, even Nancy the dog.
